Biography

Music is the heartbeat of celtic folk singer Cathy Speer. Influenced at a young age by her grandmother's bluegrass background and scottish roots. She grew up listening to her harmonies and country fiddle playing.

Cathy was born in Utah and raised in the Northwest. She picked up her first guitar at age 13 and has been playing and writing songs ever since. Her style is soft and melodic. Her gentle guitar picking style suits her voice and the songs she enjoys singing and writing.

Over the years she has frequently been asked to play for weddings and church functions. For the last two years she has also been invited to perform at J.P.'s Restaurant in Cannon Beach, Oregon for the Stormy Weather Arts Festival held every November. She has also played at the Dublin Pub in Portland, Oregon.

Cathy hopes to find other musicians interested in playing and performing with her. She lives for harmonies and loves to put her own style and arrangements to hymns in particular, as well as cover songs. She loves all things Scottish. She hopes to visit her sister and family in Moffat, Scotland soon and sing her songs on real Scottish soil!
